ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a Gameplay Programmer to join our studio, working on a dark, story-driven 'Narrative Adventure' with genre defining goals. This huge, highly ambitious project takes atmosphere, storytelling, player agency and narrative firmly into ground-breaking territory on next-generation hardware technologies. This project has AAA ambitions with a heavy focus on art, animation and delivering unique character performances to heighten player presence and immersion to new levels. We would love individuals to be based in the studio for 1-3 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work closely with design to build gameplay features.
* Using a combination of C++ and blueprinting to create systems for designers.
* Writing scalable and reusable code with performance in mind.
* Maintaining, extending, and optimising existing game systems and features.
* Ensuring overall build performance and stability throughout all stages of development.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Knowledge of C++ and overall software engineering and debugging skills.
* Keeping updated with recent advancements in technology.
* 3D maths and problem-solving skills.
* Unreal Engine 5 knowledge, including knowledge of Blueprints.
* Ability to modify and extend existing systems.
* Ability to work well with others in cross-discipline teams.
* A passion for games and game creation.
DESIREABLE:
* Experience with profiling and identifying CPU & GPU bottlenecks using industry standard tools.
* Working knowledge of Perforce.
* Experience working on PlayStation hardware.
