Key Responsibilities
Due to ongoing growth and a strong pipeline of future work, we are seeking seasonal ecologists to join our respected team in Edinburgh.
As a seasonal Ecologist, you will support various projects related to renewable energy, nature-based solutions, biodiversity net gain, habitat and peatland restoration, and conservation efforts.
Your tasks will include conducting ornithology, habitat, and protected species surveys, providing Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) support, and assisting with data entry, analysis, research, and report writing. This role offers valuable experience in survey techniques, mitigation, and best practices.
This is a fixed-term contract for 6 to 8 months starting February/March 2024. Many of our seasonal ecologists transition into full-time roles with us.
Who are we looking for?
* Currently studying or graduated in a relevant environmental or ecological field.
* Familiar with wildlife legislation and ecological survey methods.
* Interest in ornithology and bird species identification is advantageous.
* Attention to detail in data recording and transcription.
* Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong report-writing abilities with an eye for detail.
* Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
* Willingness to work in remote locations and stay away from home during the week.
* Valid full driving license.
