As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons that cater to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. You will collaborate with support staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure each child receives the support they require. Your role will involve creating a nurturing, structured, and stimulating environment where students can develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills. SEN Teacher Responsibilities: Plan and deliver personalised lessons that meet the needs of students with SEN. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment to encourage engagement and learning. Support students in achieving their individual education plan (IEP) goals. Collaborate with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure effective learning outcomes. Foster a sense of belonging and emotional well-being in all students. Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback to parents and stakeholders. Implement behaviour management strategies to support a positive learning environment. Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate various learning styles and needs. Liaise with external professionals, including therapists and educational psychologists, to ensure comprehensive support for students. Requirements that we’re looking for in a SEN Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification is a must. Experience teaching students with SEN in a school setting. A strong understanding of strategies and techniques for supporting students with additional needs. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience with planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
