Senior Software Developer - Full Stack

Our Senior Software Developer will help Operations with 3rd line support activities working on modern applications built with a React frontend and .NET (C#) based APIs deployed on Azure Cloud. There will also be opportunities to work on end-to-end new development projects.
You will contribute to, and influence, software development architectures and standards for design, build and implementation of hosted solutions / APIs. Taking a lead technical role on software solution projects you will be responsible for the delivery of best value service aligned to current business demands. The role will also require some face-to-face time with business stakeholders to help understand software solutions and carry out bug root cause analysis.

As our Senior Software Developer, you will
1. Design, develop and test 3rd line software solutions, and all associated integration whilst maintaining and supporting the IT Programme of work.
2. Contribute to the software development standards and governing adherence to them.
3. Contribute to the technical procurement and adoption standards for commercial services and systems.
4. Demonstrate innovation to exploit existing technologies.
5. Perform a senior development role on software development projects, being accountable for; Identifying technical tasks, Adhering to IT process and Creating high quality detailed technical designs to support overall technical solution.
6. Delivering software services that are: Robust and reliable, secure in nature, compliant with legal requirements of licensing, technically fit for purpose and meet specified service level agreements.
7. Keep abreast of changes within the software team to enhance the services provided to promote innovation, reduce costs, manage risk and build resilience.
8. Undertake specialist detailed and complex troubleshooting activities within your technical discipline.
What skills & qualifications you will need:

Experience of leading the design, development, and delivery of robust and reliable software services, with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets, in two or more of the following technical disciplines: Microsoft .NET 6 (C#,, MVC, WCF, etc.) MS SQL experience including writing SQL scripts. API development Strong ReactJS Experience with REDUX Experience with class based react components JavaScript ES6 CSS / SASS Jest unit testing Microsoft SQL server (TSQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, etc.) Mobile application development technologies
10. An excellent understanding of Service Oriented Architecture design that integrate correctly
11. Excellent knowledge of documentation, testing and release management principles with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic, changing environment
12. Ability to absorb complex technical information and communicate effectively to all levels, both technical and non-technical audiences.
13. Established/proven technical experience gained in a complex and varied environment with knowledge of: Hardware, Software, and/or Hosted Architectures.
14. Highly motivated and self-reliant with a personal drive for continuous development you will have proven analytical and problem-solving abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.
15. Extensive knowledge of the system development lifecycle.
16. Ability to understand enterprise solutions.

18. Knowledge/Experience of the delivering/configuring various software platforms (, IIS, SQL Server, etc.).
19. Previous experience in an operational and / or strategic leadership role in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment.
20. Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
