Robert Gordon’s College is looking to appoint a talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individual to join our thriving Creative Arts Department in January, 2025. This is a fixed-term position which is expected to finish at the end of the College Summer term, the 27th of June, 2025. This post is part-time (0.6 full-time equivalent) over 3 days, Monday-Wednesday, but fewer days may be considered. The successful applicant will be expected to teach classes in the middle stages, from upper Primary to lower Secondary. Teaching high-quality lessons with a focus on high standards and engagement is vital to the role as we are committed to excellent outcomes for all our young people from 3 to 18. It is expected that the successful applicant will contribute to the wider life of the College, that they will have excellent piano skills, the desire to lead groups and be involved in other Department activities as and when required. The main duties of the role are: Lead, support and contribute to the co-curricular life of the Music team; Assess, record and report on the progress and achievements of the pupils; Teach and support groups and ensembles effectively; Help organise and participate in School ensemble and musical activities and events; Set high expectations for pupil behaviour to create a purposeful working atmosphere and a safe and respectful classroom environment that supports the learning of all pupils; Implement all procedures and practices of the music department; Communicate effectively with Colleagues, parents and pupils; Safeguard health and safety.
