The post holder will support the Information Governance team to provide assurance for IG related issues.
The post holder is a key member of the team investigating incidents and where necessary reporting to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
Vacancy may close earlier due to volume of applications.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be based at Darent Valley hospital and will be working in the Women, Children, Radiology and Outpatient Division.
The post holder will become involved in a variety of tasks that many IG professionals are very familiar with.
There will be opportunities to become involved with tasks to support the annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit and the Trust's IG Audit tool. This role will support and follow up IG expert advice and guidance.
Job responsibilities
1. Investigate the RCA for data breaches raised on Datix or as received by the IG team, raise issues as found that may be ICO reportable;
2. Identify trends / themes from incidents and issue advice and guidance to staff;
3. Assist with collating and obtaining evidence for the security standards in the Data Security and Protection Toolkit;
4. Assist with GDPR / DPA2018 advice and guidance to staff;
5. Lead on facilitating regular tasks within the team which require attention to detail and the ability to identify issues that could result in a personal data breach;
6. Actively support with IG knowledge with attendance at regular meetings;
7. Provide cover for the Freedom of Information service facilitated within the IG team;
8. Assist with writing or reviewing of policies and guidelines as required;
9. Undertake other duties as appropriate within the team.

Education and Training
* Educated to degree level or have proven experience
* Evidence of CPD
Knowledge and Skills
* Good knowledge of MS Office applications
* Computer Literate
* Knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Able to analyse, investigate and resolve queries
* Able to organise and prioritise workload
* Able to work autonomously or as part of a team
* Able to work to tight deadlines
* Logical approach to problem solving
* Knowledge of PAS
* Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 2000

Experience
* Administration experience in a busy office environment
* Experience of working in the NHS
* Experience of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit
* Experience of using Datix modules (or other similar risk management tool)
