This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified emergency nurse to work in a fast-paced, dynamic emergency department. Rotherham's Urgent and Emergency Care Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, highly motivated individual to come and join our team in a role as a senior sister/charge nurse.
We are looking for a forward-thinking, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our senior nursing team.
The successful applicant will be assisting in the leadership of the department and the coordination of high-quality care within the clinical environment.
Patient safety and experience is of paramount importance. The band 7 team play a pivotal role in the delivery and monitoring of this.
The post holder will also have clinical, teaching, managerial, and staff development responsibilities. As part of the role, you are expected to lead and manage your own mentor team of staff within the department. This includes appraisals, mandatory training compliance, and ensuring a positive staff/patient experience.

Main duties of the job
Within this role, the post holder will be expected to assess patients, devise care plans, and implement the care. Provide advice and guidance to the multidisciplinary team and ensure all records and documentation are completed and relevant. The role involves managing staff, rotas, appraisals, recruitment and selection, resource control, and budgetary management for the area. This role involves the overall 24-hour responsibility for the department and therefore will require enhanced communication skills in order to deal with the broad range of issues involved in the day-to-day management of the service.

Qualifications
* First level Registered Nurse with the NMC
* Teaching / Mentorship Qualification
* Current Advanced Life Support Qualification
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Relevant Emergency Department experience at Band 6
* Post-registration A&E course or equivalent study
Knowledge
* Excellent communication skills with clear written and oral skills
* Effective organisational abilities, supervisory skills, leadership, and change management skills
* Awareness of current health service priorities, national and local nursing, and quality agenda
Experience
* Demonstrate experience in a senior post (Band 6 and above)
