Graduate Mechanical Design Draftsman
Location: Maidstone - hybrid
Salary: up to £32,000 pa
This role as a Graduate Mechanical Design Draughtsman will play a pivotal role in the design team, learning how to produce high-quality mechanical drawings, piping isometrics, equipment layouts, and P&IDs across a diverse range of industries. The successful candidate will be proficient in using CAD packages, primarily Autodesk Plant 3D, Inventor, and Revit, and will have a strong understanding of engineering design principles and industry standards.
The role will be hybrid, with a minimum of 1 day per week in the Maidstone office for the first month, gradually becoming 1 day per month in the office.
Responsibilities:
1. Working with the team to produce detailed mechanical drawings, including piping isometrics, equipment layouts, fabrication drawings, and P&IDs based on engineering design specifications.
2. Utilise CAD packages, primarily Autodesk Plant 3D, Inventor, and Revit, to create accurate and comprehensive 3D models and 2D drawings.
3. Develop pipe routing and support designs, access platforms, and bespoke equipment as per engineer's specifications.
4. Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices for mechanical design and drafting.
5. Collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and other team members to deliver projects on time and within budget.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and software applications.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Have ONC/HNC Level or possess a technical diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
2. Proficiency in CAD packages, particularly Autodesk Plant 3D, Inventor, and Revit.
3. Be familiar with using Autodesk Recap and utilising point clouds in CAD packages.
4. Strong understanding of engineering design principles and industry standards.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficient in MS Office suite.
7. Full UK Driving License.
8. Be available for days in the office.
