Inspirec have partnered with a Digital Transformation and Cyber Security Consultancy who are looking to build a team to continue solving problems using software and technology for their clients.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cyber Security Consultant to join our client's team. This role requires a hands-on technical expert with at least 7 years of experience in cyber security and a strong background in working with the Ministry of Defence (MOD). The ideal candidate must possess DV Clearance and have a deep understanding of secure systems, risk management, and cyber security best practices within a defence environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide technical cyber security consultancy to public and private sector clients.
2. Perform security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management to protect critical systems.
3. Design, implement, and maintain security architectures and frameworks aligned with government standards.
4. Lead and support risk assessments, threat modelling, and incident response initiatives.
5. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with NCSC and other relevant security policies.
6. Develop and deliver security strategies, policies, and best practice guidance to internal teams and external clients.
7. Engage in security auditing, accreditation processes, and governance activities.
8. Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and advise on mitigation strategies.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. DV Clearance (Developed Vetting) is mandatory.
2. Minimum of 7 years' experience in cyber security, preferably in a technical hands-on role i.e Azure Security Architect.
3. Must have experience working with the Ministry of Defence.
4. Strong technical expertise in areas such as network security, endpoint security, cloud security, and secure system architecture.
5. Experience in penetration testing, vulnerability management, and cyber threat intelligence.
6. Solid knowledge of security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
7. Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and security governance frameworks.
8. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
9. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in high-security environments.
10. DFIR experience would be good to have.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. CISSP, CISM, CEH, CREST, or equivalent security certifications.
2. Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
3. Knowledge of secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles.
4. Experience in incident response and forensic investigations.
