Foreign Rights Assistant [Fixed Term Contract]
Are you eager to kickstart your publishing career? We're looking for a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team, providing essential administrative and sales support for our illustrated non-fiction portfolio in France and French-speaking Canada.
Contract
Temporary – February 2025 until November 2025 (with some flexibility around start and end dates)
From £25,500 per annum

Working hours
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09.30 am to 5.30 pm. We currently operate a discretionary hybrid model, with four days in our London office and one day working from home.
About the role
You will be providing support to the sales staff, maintaining trading tools, and helping the team to maximise sales opportunities in French language territories.
Main responsibilities:
* Supporting the smooth running of co-productions: ensuring that files, contracts & payments are delivered in time
* Liaising with internal departments to keep the rights team as well as the clients updated with the latest material and information
* Maintaining and updating book stocks and databases
* Creating marketing tools & catalogues
* Assisting with the preparation of internal and customer meetings
* Providing support at and around book fairs, as well as before and after trips
About you
We are looking for a self-starter with excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. You will ideally have worked in customer-facing roles before; prior experience in publishing is desirable but not essential. You will enjoy learning in a fast-paced environment and have the flexibility to adapt to change.
Fluency in English and French is a must.
You will be able to show you can:
* Process and record large amounts of data and material accurately
* Manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with internal colleagues
* Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Use Microsoft Office at an advanced level
* Provide excellent service to both customers and the team
