Saints Foundation is an independent charity aligned to Southampton Football Club. Harnessing the passion of the Club and its fans we aim to inspire, support and deliver positive change and equality of opportunity for young people and adults at risk across Southampton and surrounding areas.
What is the role?
You will be working in our dynamic Education team and will be responsible for the delivery of Saints Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars project. You will work within four of Southampton’s priority Primary Schools, using the power of the Saints badge to support those who feel the impact of inequalities.
What will you be doing?
As one of our School Sport & Learning Project Officers, you will work with young people on an individual, small group and class basis, aiming to improve attitudes towards education, raising aspirations of young people to strengthen their engagement in school life. You’ll deliver a range of different interventions to targeted pupils using specially designed resources that support them with numeracy, literacy, and PSHE, whilst also working with teachers to develop their knowledge and confidence in the delivery of PE.
You’ll also work closely with our Primary Stars Coordinator and the rest of the inspirational Primary Stars team to deliver high quality events and competitions to provide impactful wider curriculum opportunities, as well as identifying new initiatives to support young people.
You will be provided with our Saints Puma kit and you’ll be based within 4 partner schools, whilst joining the rest of the team one day a week within the buzz of the Saints Foundation office at St Mary’s Stadium.
Is this you?
Essential Experience:
Be able to create and maintain strong relationships in schools with staff and pupils.
Be a competent deliverer who is able to adapt a variety of sessions based on needs.
Have the ability to engage with Primary School age pupils from a range of backgrounds.
Have experience delivering PE within a Primary School setting.
Be committed to ongoing personal development.
Qualifications
Hold one or more of the following (essential):
Level 2 Mutli-Skills or FA Level 2/UEFA C Coaching Award or UKCC Level 2 Coaching Qualification or equivalent.
Hold one or more of the following (desirable) :
PESS Level 3
HLTA Level 3&4 Specialising in Sport
QTS/QTLS
