We are seeking an experienced Appointed Person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of lifting operations on site, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and safety standards. The role requires a BLUE CPCS accreditation for Appointed Person (A61), experience working on complex sites involving multi-crane operations and mobile cranes, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of safety and efficiency.
Add Key Responsibilities:
* Develop detailed lifting plans and risk assessments in compliance with UK regulations (e.g., LOLER, PUWER) and site-specific requirements.
* Coordinate and supervise multi-crane operations, ensuring safe distances and preventing interference between cranes.
* Evaluate and select appropriate equipment for lifting operations, considering the nature and requirements of the load.
* Conduct on-site inspections and audits of lifting operations to confirm compliance with safety standards and ensure operational effectiveness.
* Liaise with crane operators, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to communicate lifting plans and ensure understanding of safety protocols.
* Ensure all personnel involved in lifting operations are adequately trained and briefed on specific job requirements and hazards.
* Address and resolve any on-site lifting operation issues, updating lifting plans as necessary.
* Ensure compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015, keeping accurate records and documentation of all lifting operations.
Requirements:
* BLUE CPCS Card (A61) Appointed Person – Lifting Operations accreditation.
* Proven experience in multi-crane operations, particularly involving mobile cranes on complex construction sites.
* Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including LOLER, PUWER, and CDM 2015.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to create detailed lifting plans and risk assessments.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, able to work collaboratively with teams and lead by example in promoting a culture of safety.
* Ability to adapt to dynamic work environments and problem-solve under pressure.
