Job Description: Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the nuclear industry by fostering key relationships and driving innovative solutions? Due to the continued growth of our Nuclear Team, we are seeking a dynamic Head Of Civil and Structural Engineering to lead AECOM’s strategic relationships with major UK nuclear accounts. You will lead the continued development of a strong team, providing leadership and robust management. You will be the first point of direct contact with Clients, Partners, and Contractors.
Responsibilities:
1. Leading and managing the AECOM Nuclear Civil and Structural Engineering Design Team
2. Resource allocation to projects
3. Managing SQEP portfolio
4. Identifying and managing training requirements for team
5. Recruitment
6. Lead Verification
7. Strategic planning
8. Ensuring team is up to date with latest design standards and regulatory requirements
9. Disseminating key LFE
10. Business development and stakeholder management
11. Mentoring
12. Maintaining and developing links with Professional Bodies (ICE & IStructE)
13. Technical input to ITT returns
14. Auditing of project design delivery
Qualifications:
Here’s what we’re looking for:
1. Experience of leading teams delivering complex solutions
2. Demonstrable expertise with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills
3. Experience working in a role where design was a major part
4. Extensive post Chartership experience in relevant practices
5. Experience in the Nuclear Sector, including new build and decommissioning projects
6. Excellent leadership capability
7. Demonstrable record of successful delivery
8. Ability to provide leadership and undertake business development
9. Working knowledge of seismic/numerical modelling
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Essential Qualifications:
1. Civil or Structural Engineering Degree, or equivalent
2. Chartered Engineer (CEng) with MIStructE / MICE or equivalent institution
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Fellow of appropriate Institution (ICE/IStructE)
