We empower our people to stay resilient and relevant in a constantly changing world. We’re looking for people who are always searching for creative ways to grow and learn. People who want to make a real impact, now and in the future. Does that sound like you? Then it seems like you’d make a great addition to our vibrant team.
In this dynamic, customer-facing role, you will be the commercial interface for the Electrification portfolio. Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager, you will lead and report on a high-value portfolio of projects from work winning, budgeting, and cost control through to final account, over an extensive and varied work bank. This role demands developed communication and interpersonal skills as you will collaborate with teams across the business and within client organisations to understand and deliver solutions to our customers. These same skills will be deployed internally to lead and develop our growing commercial team.
You’ll create impact by
1. Leading the commercial strategy of projects, which may include Design, Installation, Test & Commission, Products, Telecoms, Electrification, OLE, E&P, and Professional Services;
2. Providing leadership, development, and recruitment to the commercial team;
3. Being the key commercial interface for responsible Work Package Managers and providing contractual and commercial support to Project Managers and Engineering;
4. Responsible for work package change control and management, cost management, and forecasting;
5. Effective management, control, and reporting of the works portfolio on a P&L basis;
6. Monitoring and actively managing and mitigating work package risks and opportunities;
7. Being responsible for maintaining auditable records for responsible work packages;
8. Working and collaborating with other functions, including finance, project management, engineering, sub-contractors, suppliers, and the customer;
9. Ensuring processes and document control align with the appropriate company standards.
You’ll win us over by
1. Having previous Commercial Manager experience working within a contractor-side project environment, ideally within a similar or related industry (e.g., rail, engineering, construction);
2. Being degree qualified and/or holding or working towards a professional qualification (i.e., RICS, ICES);
3. Handling both direct labour and subcontract costs; estimating change/variations; forecasting cost and measuring cost of work complete;
4. Having good financial and commercial acumen, contractual knowledge, and experience;
5. Working with limited supervision and under your own initiative under cost or time-critical conditions;
6. Being confident and able to deal externally and internally at all levels;
7. Having leadership experience within a team environment and/or a track record of developing commercial teams.
You'll benefit from
1. Competitive salary;
2. 26 days holiday with an option to buy/sell up to 5 days per year;
3. Attractive pension scheme;
4. Subsidised BUPA Healthcare.
