The Company: Our client is a fast-paced Homewares company looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to add to their busy team. They have a great team culture and are looking for a hands on proactive person to support customers and suppliers, jump onto new projects, analyse trade figures, support costings and assist with day to day processes and procedures. The Role: Supporting Product Manager and Buyer with NPD process of both Domestic ranges and FOB. Liaising with suppliers worldwide, requesting specifications, samples and quotations etc. Inputting key information into key working documents such as Buy plans, costing sheets, NPD tracker and presentations for review with Buyer. Critical path management- ensuring all information is up to date, dates are met and points chased up following meeting. Co-ordinate all information and samples ready for sign off meetings, pre-production meetings and supplier visits. Managing day to day of NPD projects from concept through to delivery and creating/maintaining working documents. Working closely with different departments to ensure projects are completed in full and on time. Briefing design team on new projects, design/colour work and packaging requirements. Working directly with the sales team to handover all information for launches. Liaising with marketing to ensure all sales tools required for launch are available, including trade copy, photography and sales samples. Working with Supply Chain to ensure stock is ordered, warehouse space is made, and shipping happens on time. Attending meetings with suppliers, taking notes and circulating any actions to all stakeholders. Supporting the Product Manager and Buyer with regular competitor analysis, indicating range gaps and solutions. Analyse sales data and trends to ensure being pro-active at all times. Responsible for product set up with support of Buying Assistant on Sage and PIM, ensuring all products are set up in line with critical path and all information/images are loaded to system in time for launch. Requirements Key understanding of all Buying processes, documents and ways of working. Ideally have experience working in Homewares. Ideally have experience working with FOB and own label customer projects. Computer literate, good understanding of excel and PowerPoint. Strong organisation skills and a keen eye for detail.
