Transport/Fleet Manager Required. Our client is a leading drainage company with a national client base, committed to delivering exceptional service and quality. As part of their continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Transport/Fleet Manager to join their dynamic team. Based at their head office in Belvedere, Kent, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in transport and fleet management, particularly within the Tanker Department, to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tanker Department, managing a fleet of 6 Jet Vac Combination Units. Ensure smooth operations, efficiency, and timely service delivery.
2. Ensure fleet compliance with all regulatory requirements by conducting regular maintenance checks and managing vehicle upkeep. Guarantee that all vehicles are operational and roadworthy.
3. Maintain full oversight of health and safety requirements, ensuring the team adheres to all relevant guidelines and regulations. Implement and monitor compliance protocols across the department.
4. Lead and support the Transport/Fleet team, including staff training, organizing required training courses, and maintaining up-to-date training records. Foster a positive working environment and promote skill development.
5. Manage yard operations to ensure it meets all operational and safety standards. Organize equipment storage and oversee general yard activities to ensure everything is in place for smooth operations.
6. Oversee the procurement of necessary materials and equipment for the department, ensuring that all tools and supplies are available for day-to-day operations.
What We're Looking For:
1. Proven experience in managing a large fleet, ideally within the Tanker/Transport Management sector. Previous experience in the drainage industry or a similar field is a distinct advantage.
2. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage time, tasks, and resources efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail is essential.
3. Experience in leading and motivating a team, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, senior management, and external partners.
4. A solid understanding of health and safety regulations, fleet management compliance, and industry best practices.
