You should apply if you have:
* You will be a time-served Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Technician, preferably with experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment such as Automotive, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals or Primary Metal Production
* You will have a recognised apprenticeship in an electrical or mechanical discipline, an ONC, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance or Engineering or equivalent qualification
* You will have maintenance and fault-finding experience across equipment such as PLCs, relay logic control, vision systems, fixed and variable speed drives, process control, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical handling systems/conveyors, mechanical transmissions or robotics
* Regardless of your route to Maintenance so far, you will have a willingness to learn and a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement
* You should be comfortable thinking for yourself and setting your own agenda. You will be in situations that require quick decision-making and you should enjoy the pace and reactive nature of a busy, global production environment
* To be part of this respected team, you will need to be highly motivated, with excellent technical skill level and a proactive approach to resolving issues and implementing long term countermeasures
* You should have the right to work in the UK and be geographically mobile should your training or project work require it
* The role is shift-based so you should be able to commit to working a shift pattern.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
* You will be the first port of call for breakdown response within your zone. With a state-of-the-art, busy production environment you will be making quick decisions and thinking fast to keep your area running in the face of challenges.
* You will also carry out dynamic checks as well as planned and preventative maintenance tasks, applying logical thinking to reduce risk and install effective countermeasures to any issues. You will also be involved in condition-based monitoring to predict and resolve possible failures.
* You will also collaborate in project work and continuous improvement activities, including new and current model development work, where you will be involved in testing and buy-off procedures with other departments such as Engineering and Production
* You will quickly learn the suite of equipment within the Nissan Sunderland plant, including scissor lifts, cranes, forklifts and cherry pickers
