Telecommunications Engineer – Openreach contract (fibre)
We are working alongside one of the largest telecoms contractors in the UK, they are working on an Openreach Service Delivery contract that is running until at least 2029, the work involves the installation of fibre broadband to customer premises/homes.

The role involves travelling to customer premises to install and splice fibre broadband, you will need to be comfortable working at heights and able to climb up telegraph poles once trained. The role will involve drilling in customer properties, so you need to be proficient using power tools and take the upmost care not to cause damage.
What our client will offer is;
· Full practical & theory training – paid training for 3 weeks (£93.75 per day)
· Field based buddy training – 1-2 weeks paid training as required (£93.75 per day)
· Coaching & support once training is completed
· Van with fuel card (covers fuel / ad-blue / oil)
· All necessary PPE / tooling / equipment to undertake the role
· Price work – paid on price per job (see below rates)
What we expect from the engineers are;
· To be on site at your first job no later than 8am
· To complete all customer installs you are programmed for the day (issues dependant)
· To contact your manager when you complete all jobs
· To assist with additional jobs if you are able during the working day.
· To always represent the company with professionalism
· To always treat the customer with the upmost respect (Customer Service)
· To liaise with your Line Manager & Service Delivery Planning Team each day
· To follow H&S guidelines at all times and use TETRA ladder safety when required
· To maintain a clean and tidy van and working environment.
· To be careful when drilling at all times and keep the work area clean/tidy.
· To travel as required to your jobs, predominantly less that 1hr.
Remuneration (price per job basis);
· We pay £50 per install for a full install (5% uplift for working inside the M25 area), with a 5% bonus based on deliverables
· We pay £25 per partial install – internal or external only (5% uplift for working inside the M25 area)
· We pay £16 per install for a sub-provide (5% uplift for working inside the M25 area)
· The average number of installs completed on the contract, is around 20 per week when up to speed – roughly after 3 months of training and working.
How you will be paid;
· The position is paid on price per job (you earn what you complete)
· The position is paid as “Umbrella PAYE” via a payroll company.
· The position is NOT self-employed “CIS”
· You will be paid weekly, two weeks in arrears.
Earning potential;
· 3 x full installs per day / 15 x full installs per week = £750 p/w or £35k per year
· 4 x full installs per day / 20 x full installs per week = £1000 p/w or £46k per year
· 5 x full installs per day / 25 x full installs per week = £1250 p/w or £58k per year
· There is a bonus additional to the above
What we are looking for;
· People who are looking for a full-time job (5 days per week / 40-50hrs on site working)
· People who are enthusiastic and have excellent customer service skills
· People would ideally come from a telecoms or engineering background
· People who can work at heights – up to 15m poles.
· People who can work outside in all weather conditions
· Highly organised, with attention to detail
· Excellent at time keeping and being on time for appointments
· Safety conscious
· IT literate
Requirements for the job;
· Must be able to live and work in the UK
· Must have a full UK driving licence for manual vehicles (not automatic)
· Must not have been banned from driving within the last 5 years
· Must have no more than 6 points on your driving licence
· Must undertake a DBS check
. Must undertake a drug and alcohol test on day one of training
This is paid price per job via umbrella PAYE (payroll company)
