DWF is hiring an Associate to join their nationally recognised Major Injury team in Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle.
The Major Injury team at DWF is one of the largest in the UK, acting for a large number of Insurer clients many of whom are household names. The team deals with complex, catastrophic and large loss claims, including road traffic collisions (RTA) and Employer Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) matters.
The working pattern is hybrid, and we would expect the successful individual to work from our Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle office at least 2 days per week.
Responsibilities
* To assist a Partner with managing a caseload of high value injury claims, compromising of a variety of defendant catastrophic injury, EL/PL, and RTA matters.
* Drafting pleadings, reports to clients, attending court hearings, working to court deadlines, liability investigations, gathering evidence, instructing experts and considering medical causation issues.
* Prioritise work effectively and maximise efficiency in working practices, adhering to court deadlines and directions, as well as the client's service level agreements.
* Build working relationships internally and externally to maintain client relationships, develop business networks and create a solid understanding of the Firm’s direction and client needs.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
* Technically experienced in and a real interest in catastrophic injury work, including RTA, Employer Liability and Public Liability.
* Experience handling high value defendant personal injury files, either in your own right or as an assistant to more senior team members.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering results within strict deadlines, whilst providing the highest service level to clients.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable
* Excellent computer skills.
* Excellent experience in working with a team or on your own initiative.
