Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales Executive to work for our client at their facility in the West Midlands. The role is an exciting new opportunity within their Oil and Gas Sales Department, reporting to the Sales Manager.
The role will be heavily involved in the professional promotion and sale of the company's products across their Oil & Gas North Sea division, managing a portfolio of accounts and handling enquiries from new customers.
The candidate must have sales experience in the selling of specialty steels, along with an excellent understanding of business requirements and the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Develop a good understanding of the full range of the company's products and services as well as having an overview of the products and services sold by other divisions.
* Manage a portfolio of accounts to hit and exceed specified targets.
* Accurately take verbal enquiries.
* Swift and accurate turnaround from enquiry to quotation.
* Chase quotations to win orders and ascertain why if the order isn’t placed.
* Maintain regular contact with assigned customers via telephone and email, with potential to make calls to develop new business.
* Visit key customers with the external sales team if and when required.
* Negotiate with customers, suppliers, and colleagues at all levels.
* Accurately and correctly input sales orders and subcontract work onto the computer system in a timely manner.
* Resolve any queries or problems as speedily as possible.
* Keep your line manager and colleagues aware of anything major in the pipeline, good or bad.
* Keep accurate specific customer information up to date by using Salesforce.
* Maintain stock levels in line with company guidelines and customer requirements.
* Understand group products and offer if there is a customer need.
* Follow the training received when using any work items given.
* Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety.
* Cooperate with your employer on health and safety.
* Report any serious health and safety risks to your supervisor or health and safety representative.
* Support the company with environmental initiatives and compliance issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: School GCSEs and/or apprenticeship.
Experience: Sales experience in Oil and Gas, particularly in Special Steels and Nickel-based alloys. Key account management with technical sales experience, especially with releases and specifications. Previous SAP and Salesforce experience preferred.

Physical Demands:
35 hours a week, exact timing to be agreed. However, you may often need to work extra hours, but there will be some flexibility on the exact working times.
Your role will be mainly office-based, although you may need to travel to visit other companies or to attend training, meetings, and conferences.
