In this broad and interesting role, you will play a key role from project conception through to design, development, manufacture, and commissioning. The company manufactures on-site, and you will be involved throughout the process to ensure your designs come to life as you envisage. The Role:
1. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role working on bespoke special purpose machinery projects
2. Dealing with customers, designing, manufacturing, and commissioning equipment
3. Producing parts lists, assembly drawings, and detail drawings
4. Working to tight deadlines, ensuring projects are delivered on time & within budget
5. Risk assessments on machinery and assemblies of machinery, H&S assessments
The Person:
1. 5-10 years' demonstrable experience in designing and developing complex mechanical assemblies and mechanisms using 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar) with working knowledge of pneumatic or hydraulic systems & able to perform engineering calculations and analysis
2. Previous experience designing special purpose machinery for manufacture - packaging machinery experience is preferable, but transferable skills from similar fields will also be considered (industrial, agricultural, oil & gas, water)
3. Confident to take the technical lead in a team on occasional larger projects & mentor more junior members of the team
