Description of Duties:
With direction, assists full-time staff with clerical duties of a diversified nature. Handles box office functions, ticket sales, concessions, general cleaning duties, and technical aspects of backstage functions (lighting, sound, and monitor production). Files and maintains records in accordance with appropriate office practices. Possesses good public speaking skills, listens effectively, and responds clearly and directly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Assist with daily operations of Valerie Theatre, adhering to policies and procedures.
* Assist with box office operation(s) and conduct ticket and concession sales.
* Ability to communicate with the general public and patrons in a professional manner.
* Ability to perform power-on and shutdown procedures for all lighting, sound, and video equipment.
* Assist in all event set-up, tear down, load-in, load-out, and clean-up processes.
* Conduct general cleaning of Theatre, maintaining cleanliness and appearance for a consistent "patron ready" environment.
* Assist in assuring that all patrons have a successful and memorable experience at every event.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of office procedures, practices, arithmetic, spelling, grammar, sentence structure, typing, and letter writing. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to type and use standard office equipment, including a computer, specifically PC, printer, scanner, and navigation of software/programs (Word, Outlook, Internet, etc.). Ability to read, write, and produce accurately typed memorandums and data entry. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public. Experience with customer service principles. Graduation from high school or possession of an accredited equivalency diploma. Experience in a theater setting is preferred but not required. Walking, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing ladders up to 14 feet.
PRE EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL & TESTING:
After an employment offer, candidates must submit to a physical exam associated with the performance criteria of this position prior to employment.

If unable to complete online, applications are available at Inverness Government Center, Administration Office between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, located at 212 West Main Street, Inverness. Completed application forms are to be returned to the Administration Office for handling. Applications of qualified applicants will be submitted to the hiring department for review and consideration for interviews. The City schedules interviews by telephone or email during normal business hours.
EMPLOYEE NOTIFICATION:
