Our client has a permanent vacancy for a Day Shift Engineer to ensure that all equipment is maintained to the highest standard possible. You will provide preventative maintenance and breakdown maintenance when required. Provides advanced diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair for advanced electronic and mechanical production equipment, including printers, binders, conveyor belts, cutters, distribution equipment, laminators, converters, to ensure efficient operations.
Working Day Shift, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Essential Job Duties:
1. Maintenance of equipment
2. Troubleshooting - diagnosis of mechanical/electrical faults
3. Perform preventative maintenance tasks
4. Liaise with suppliers of production equipment
5. Liaise with Production Manager and Shift Leaders on priority issues
6. Source spare parts as required
7. Maintain stock levels of critical parts in line with cost controls, repair parts, replacement recommendations
8. Communicate concise information at shift handover
9. Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment to minimise risk
10. Attend regular team meetings or training as required
11. Performance of other maintenance duties throughout the building as required
12. To be responsible for your own Health and Safety adhere to safety guidelines in a warehouse environment and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues in order to maintain a safe environment
13. To report any accidents, potential hazards to your Line Manager immediately
14. Engineers will also assist, support and work in general operations, facilities maintenance or production areas to assist with the production of books as business needs or shift leads dictate
15. Other duties as deemed necessary from time to time
Skills:
1. Ability to retain knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
2. Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
3. Engineering/electrical knowledge
4. Strong diagnostic skills in both Electrical and Mechanical
5. Ability to apply mastery of skills in adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment, as appropriate

14. 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) City and Guilds 2382 qualification is desirable
Experience:
1. 2 years equipment maintenance experience in a fast-paced production environment, with a strong electronics background
2. 3 years general mechanical knowledge and electrical knowledge
3. Pre and post print machinery experience desirable
