E.ON UK operates one of the largest Street Lighting Contracting businesses in the UK with a large presence in the East and West Midlands as well as the North West of England. We have four Street Lighting PFI's and work for most local authorities in the areas we operate in.

On a daily basis you will assist with the installation and maintenance of street lighting columns and signs. You will complete work to the correct and highest specification using the materials and skills effectively while maintaining and developing a competence level and technical skills to ensure delivery to the high standards at all times.
You will be expected to carry out risk assessments on site and maintain safe working practices, safely using and operating tools, equipment, and vehicles associated with the role. As required, you will attend training to maintain knowledge and application of systems and procedures.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be expected, at times, to work unsocial hours when required so flexibility and willingness are a must.
Key responsibilities
1. Ensure the safe use and operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles associated with the role.
2. Have an awareness of the working environment and surroundings and an understanding of the ability to carry out health, safety, and environmental risk assessments.
3. Work in a safe manner and in accordance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality policies and procedures.
4. Comply with operational working practices, method statements, and associated risk assessments.
5. Take full ownership for personal health and safety responsibilities and for those working around you or affected by your operations.
6. Ensure correct selection and use of company-provided PPE and equipment as required by the relevant risk assessment and method statements relating to each work activity.
7. Effectively plan, manage, and execute the work provided to ensure completion within expected timescales and key deadlines.
What we need from you
1. A demonstrable history of employment in fault diagnosis and rectification with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
2. Electrical qualification C & G 236 Parts 1 & 2 / 2330 Level 2 & 3.
3. CPCS Competent Operator Card (MEWP Boom) or equivalent.
4. A current full driving licence to drive vehicles up to 7500Kg (C1) and experience/training of driving this size of vehicle.
5. A current NRSWA qualification (Units 2 as minimum) or equivalent.
6. Working in the Vicinity of DNO Equipment (G39/1) qualification.
7. Current First Aid and Manual Handling certificates.
8. A high degree of manual dexterity and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
9. A good understanding of the Highways Lighting business.
10. A good working knowledge of company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
11. The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
12. The ability to take a professional, courteous, confident, and diplomatic approach to customers at all times.
