Key Responsibilities
The Lead Aircraft Mechanic will oversee maintenance tasks, ensuring accurate completion of company and third-party paperwork and reporting directly to the Hangar Manager.
Additional Duties
* Manage and monitor bookings and team performance to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
* Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to Health and Safety procedures, COSHH, and company protocols.
* Implement cost reduction initiatives and improve maintenance facility efficiencies.
* Maintain a professional environment through effective housekeeping and hangar standards.
* Demonstrate awareness of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and promote a safety culture.
* Report safety concerns and participate in safety-related activities.
* Understand and interpret Aircraft Structural Drawings.
* Manage Tool Control, promote its use, and understand the lost tool procedure.
* Ensure timely return of tools to Tool Stores and serviceability of ground equipment.
* Monitor contract staff performance and inform the Check Manager.
* Inspect parts for dispatch and first-off operations, ensuring compliance with inspection procedures.
Requirements and Skills
To succeed in this role, the Lead Mechanic should possess:
* A background in Base Maintenance.
* Current aircraft mechanic certification.
* Supervisory experience is desired.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This position is based in Newquay, with a 5/5/4 shift pattern, and offers a competitive salary, flexibility allowance, employer pension contribution, sick pay, service awards, and relocation allowance consideration if required.
