Job Overview:
The Head of Direct Sales is responsible for creating and managing a new programme of direct sales activity for Bella+Duke. This role focuses on leveraging experiential marketing techniques to showcase the brand's products or services and turning this into sales. The role will unlock the huge potential of the Bella+Duke brand and product by building a new sales function within an already fast growth organisation, playing a major role in propelling the business to become one of the UK’s leading pet food brands.
Tasks and Accountabilities:
Objectives Critical to the Success of the Role:
* Drive substantial incremental revenue by establishing and optimizing new direct sales channels.
* Achieve incremental sales targets while maintaining an optimal CAC-to-LTV ratio.
* Develop and refine a scalable direct sales model post-proof-of-concept phase, enabling sustained growth and expanding the reach of direct sales initiatives to build a robust pipeline for continuous sales momentum.
Tasks:
* Develop and execute new experiential sales strategies that align with overall business objectives.
* Set and achieve ambitious sales targets with a relentless determination to find new and improved ways to sell more.
* Measure and report on the ROI of experiential campaigns, ensuring alignment with revenue and margin goals.
* Plan, organize, and manage experiential events, pop-ups, activations, and in-person campaigns to drive sales.
* Lead from the front, developing the sales playbook and imparting skills and expertise onto colleagues and partners.
* Manage relationships with external sales agencies and partners to execute flawlessly, delivering a great brand experience whilst driving new customer volumes.
* Recruit, manage and mentor a team of in-house sales specialists and brand ambassadors to attend key sales events.
* Manage budgets for experiential campaigns, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
* Work with marketing to design and deliver engaging, memorable experiences that captivate the audience and highlight the brand’s value proposition.
* Oversee project timelines and ensure deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
Desired Experience:
* Extensive experience in experiential or direct sales within a D2C or B2C environment.
* Proven success in establishing a new sales function, scaling it from inception to nationwide impact.
* Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and inspire large teams while effectively navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
* Hands-on experience working in a fast-paced start-up or scale-up environment is highly desirable.
* Track record of driving sales through face-to-face engagement and interactions.
* Expertise in planning, executing, and evaluating events, activations, or pop-up initiatives.
* Proven experience managing both external agencies and in-house sales teams to achieve business objectives.

Working Pattern:
Dynamic and often irregular, reflecting the fast-paced and hands-on nature of the role. Typically a minimum of two weekends per month with frequent travel and overnight stays at events. Many working days will also occur over public holidays. The role requires flexibility to adjust schedules based on event timelines, last-minute changes, or extended operating hours. This working pattern requires strong time management skills, resilience, and a proactive attitude to manage the demands of a dynamic and customer-facing environment.
