Job Title - Calibration Engineer
Location: Leeds
What do you get to do in this position?
The Calibration engineer's primary responsibility is to carry out calibration procedures on controlled/test equipment and maintain the system around this. As a Calibration Engineer, you should be able to review and conduct basic repairs of equipment, maintain a record of daily operations, and prepare calibration certificates and data reports.
What are your key responsibilities in the role?
1. Performing calibration tests and certifying equipment
2. Performing thorough equipment inspections
3. Testing repaired equipment for quality standards
4. Owning and running the calibration process using the CMMS to ensure all site calibrated equipment is compliant with site calibration requirements
5. Scheduling appointments for equipment maintenance and servicing and calibration with third-party vendors where needed
6. Addressing and troubleshooting any production queries and equipment failures
7. Managing equipment repairs via external support
8. Developing supplier performance
9. Analyzing and suggesting equipment upgrades
10. Maintaining and updating a record of all daily operations
11. Ensuring a complete stock of calibration equipment and supplies
12. Maintaining documentation of the calibration process
13. Maintaining defined KPI's (OTD, Preventative vs. Reactive Maintenance, Budgets)
14. Assisting in preparing calibration certificates and data reports
This role might be for you if?
1. Apprenticeship or related field experience
2. Certificate in one/two of the following: Engineering Maintenance/Instrumentation & Control; Calibration; Electrical and Electronic Principles; PLC Principle
3. Proven work experience as a Calibration Technician or a similar role in the Engineering department
4. Complete understanding of calibration procedures and testing techniques
5. Familiarity with electrical inspection, testing equipment, and quality control tools such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
6. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills
8. Excellent mechanical skills
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
10. A team player as well as the ability to work independently
11. Having an eye for detail
12. Flexibility in order to deliver excellent customer service
