Analyse project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates
Work closely with engineers and project managers to define the scope of work
Review and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Use estimating software to prepare precise cost estimates
Select appropriate materials and equipment for projects
Prepare and submit bid proposals for mechanical projects
Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation strategies
Track and manage project budgets and expenditures
Communicate with suppliers and contractors to obtain pricing information
Assist in contract negotiations and finalise project scope
Monitor project progress and report any deviations from the plan
Provide support during project implementation to ensure adherence to estimated costsMechanical Estimator Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry
Proficiency in estimation software and tools
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
Strong negotiation skills
Minimum of 3 year's experience in mechanical estimating
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and estimation software
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Excellent problem-solving skills
