Dan and Decarlo is a neighbourhood cafe based in the heart of East Finchley, obsessed with serving the very best in breakfast, lunch coffee, and sweet treats. We are currently looking for an experienced general manager who would be keen to help grow the business and take Dan and Decarlo to another level.
As a general manager, we expect you to have full responsibility for the business and take pride in the shop.
You will be expected to lead the team, drive sales, deliver great customer service, and be the constant face of energy and passion on the shop floor. It will be your responsibility to uphold the D&D standards and develop a team that thrives under pressure. You will need to drive sales through training your team and implementing strong work ethics that focus on teamwork and providing great customer service.
We are looking for an experienced Manager with at least 2 years of experience in hospitality management. You will need to demonstrate knowledge and skill in training all levels of staff in various areas of the business.
We are looking for a candidate who is interested in furthering their career in the coffee and hospitality sector and is interested in building a long-term career with us. You will work very closely with the owner to implement and develop the company’s vision and take D&D other places with either pop-ups or other stores.
We truly believe that our people are our most important asset and as a manager, you will be a critical factor in this formula.
This role requires your availability on weekends and daytimes.
THE ROLE:
1. Approach: Maintain an enthusiastic, engaged, and passionate approach to work, with the ability to cope under pressure. Lead by example, emphasising quality and efficiency, and maintain a good working atmosphere within the café.
2. Staffing and Team building: Hire, train and develop your team. Conduct monthly performance reviews, focusing on feedback and development. Emphasise the importance of teamwork and encourage initiative amongst the team. Motivate your team to possess a positive attitude at all times.
3. Floor: Day to day running of the café and managing the floor. Deal with any issues that arise in a professional manner. Operating the till, basic food/drink prep, overseeing the Deliveroo and Uber Eats orders, as well as overseeing opening/closing procedures.
4. Cleanliness: Maintain top-notch cleanliness throughout the cafe and strictly follow regulatory health and safety guidelines.
5. Sales: Drive the team and increase upselling.
6. Admin: Generate weekly staff rotas, schedule approvals, and payroll. Perform weekly stock checks and oversee ordering while maintaining a good relationship with all suppliers and vendors. Work with profits and budgeting with our weekly spend. Be responsible for online reviews (Google Reviews, Trip Advisor), including encouraging customers to leave positive reviews. Knowledge of Word and Excel would be a bonus.
Minimum Requirements:
* At least 2 years experience in hospitality management
* Great spoken and written English
* Must be able to work Full-time in the UK
* Must have daytime and weekend availability

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
