Job Description Summary: Lead Machine Learning Engineer responsible for leading the MLE function within our Data Science & AI Centre of Excellence.

JOB TITLE: LEAD MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER
SALARY: £86,900pa to £125,000pa (Dependent on depth of experience and location) plus the benefits listed below
LOCATIONS: Bristol or London
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
As a lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will be contributing to one of the largest transformations in the history of financial services, working with vast datasets and focusing on areas such as Gen AI and AI Ethics.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of end-to-end machine learning systems in Python using software development best practices.
* Shape the strategy of Machine Learning Engineering at LBG.
* Act as a point of technical expertise for data science and AI practitioners.
* Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Machine Learning Engineers.
* Collaborate with teams across the data and technology job families.
* Communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders effectively.
About You:
We're keen to speak with candidates who have demonstrable experience in data science, machine learning, or software engineering, with a focus on leading technical delivery and managing stakeholders.
* Machine Learning Engineering: Ability to develop resilient and scalable ML systems.
* Python: Proficient in writing modular Pythonic code and familiarity with core Python data structures.
* Software Engineering: Apply best practices to deploy ML models reliably and efficiently.
* Cloud Technologies: Experience with Google Cloud Platform and its services.
We're particularly interested in individuals with a track record of delivering data science/machine learning projects in commercial environments.
