We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Language Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Shrewsbury. This part-time role offers an excellent opportunity to teach French or Spanish to students with diverse learning needs, fostering their love for languages in a nurturing and inclusive environment. The role is available for 1 day per week until July 2025.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver engaging and accessible French or Spanish lessons tailored to meet the needs of SEN students.
2. Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate a variety of additional needs, including autism and moderate learning difficulties (MLD).
3. Collaborate with support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
4. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to encourage language development.
5. Foster a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere that inspires students to explore new cultures and languages.
What We're Looking For
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
2. Experience teaching French or Spanish, preferably within an SEN or inclusive setting.
3. Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
4. A patient, empathetic, and creative approach to teaching.
5. Passion for promoting cultural awareness and language learning.
Requirements
1. Previous experience in a Secondary school setting or SEN school.
2. Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team.
3. Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
4. Have a QTS.
5. Have a DBS Certificate on the Update Service / Willing to obtain one.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a primary school setting.
