Salary: £25,000.00 Per Year + Cambian Benefits
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Term Time Only
We are seeking to appoint a Humanities Instructor to join this thriving School. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring that the department and the school are successful in achieving its aims. You should be an enthusiastic, flexible, and determined individual who shares our values and is looking to develop their career in this specialist area.
The School
Cambian Potterspury Lodge School supports and educates students with Autism and other associated challenges within the autistic spectrum, offering pupils aged 8–18 a differentiated, engaging, and challenging curriculum. Our school offers up to 52-week residential provision and also provides day-student placements.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) principles, definitions, and basic practice, including awareness of the roles and responsibilities of those contributing to SEN programs.
2. Communicate and consult with parents/carers and other appropriate individuals, participating in student-focused meetings as required.
3. Recognise, value, and raise the achievement of students, which will involve:
1. Awareness of the strengths and limitations of different forms of assessment.
2. Effectively using more specialised assessment techniques to plan and deliver teaching and support.
3. Implementing and developing Pupil Support Plans (PSPs) effectively, ensuring that specific targets and approaches prescribed are used.
4. Being familiar with and participating in assessment procedures.
5. Keeping up-to-date records and preparing accurate assessment reports for reviews.
Essential Criteria:
1. Educated to Degree level or suitable teaching qualification.
2. A dedicated work ethic to ensure the needs of all students.
3. Passionate about making learning effective and enjoyable.
4. SEN experience (Desired but not essential).
