SENCo (Maternity Cover) – Highly Regarded Boys’ School in Ilford Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs? A highly regarded boys’ school in Ilford is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCo to join our team on a maternity cover basis. About the Role As SENCo, you will lead our provision for students with additional needs, ensuring they receive the support required to achieve their full potential. Working closely with staff, students, and parents, you will foster an inclusive environment where every learner thrives. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the identification, support, and monitoring of students with SEN. Leading the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Providing guidance, training, and support to teaching staff to ensure quality SEN provision. Liaising with parents, external agencies, and professionals to coordinate effective support. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the SEN Code of Practice. About You The ideal candidate will have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with SENCo accreditation (or willingness to work towards it). Substantial experience working with children with SEN in a school setting. Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and current SEN legislation. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to improving outcomes for all students.
