Job Title: Plant Manager
We are seeking a dedicated Plant Manager to coordinate and deliver key plant resources across our HS2 contract.
This role is central to ensuring that plant and labour are deployed efficiently to meet production demands, maintaining a high-energy delivery-focused approach throughout the project lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities:
* Liaise with Project Managers and Project Leads on plant and labour requirements, creating a schedule for each section.
* Ensure timely procurement and delivery of plant resources to the right locations, overseeing maintenance service and repair of the BEL fleet to minimize downtime.
* Manage the allocation of equipment across three work sections to optimize utilization, including site personnel vehicles, bowsers, and greasing trucks, managing gas oil Ad-Blu and DERV stocks and distribution.
* Maintain a KPI dashboard on plant performance and downtime, pushing OEMs to ensure minimum standards are maintained, managing machine utilization to ensure hours are equalized across the fleet.
About You:
* Demonstrable experience managing a large plant fleet for major civil engineering projects, preferably including large-scale earthworks, intimate understanding of heavy earthmoving equipment and their maintenance costs.
* Experience managing a team responsible for administrative operational and technical functions, with the ability to delegate and empower employees while providing support and coaching as needed.
* Ability to work dynamically and at a fast pace to monitor and manage resources throughout the day to meet production demands, computer literate including the creation and maintenance of dashboards and other digital metrics.
