Job Description SEND Teaching Assistant-Sixth Form Location – Northwich, UK EdNet is currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in the Sixth Form of a very well respected SEND School in the central Northwich area. This is a full time, long term post, and will commence as soon as the right candidate is sourced for the role. You will have experience and understanding of the needs of pupils with complex physical, emotional and learning difficulties; Medical conditions e.g. autism, sensory impairment, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, SEMH; Classroom routines; STO’s for each child; Behaviour plans; Care Plans; Communication techniques e.g. Makaton, PECS. The Sixth Form aims to provide a challenging and motivating curriculum that meets the diverse learning needs of the students, as well as preparing them for post school transition. The provision offers a personalised and differentiated curriculum based on the students’ individual needs, abilities and learning styles. OFSTED Report 2013 You will assist teaching staff in the delivery of learning activities and work programmes and undertake predetermined activities with pupils so that their intellectual and social development (including self-reliance and self-esteem) is fostered. You will also be required to liaise with parents and carers in conjunction with the teaching staff to ensure effective communication concerning the pupils' well being. Also, you will be expected to prepare and maintain learning equipment and ensure that the classroom is kept clean and tidy.
