Finance Assistant & Payroll Lead (Xero Expert)
We're seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Finance Assistant and Payroll Lead to join our team. As a Xero expert, you'll support our finance function with tasks such as financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close processes. You'll have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, payments, payroll, and receipts with accuracy and efficiency.
* General Ledger Maintenance: Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
* Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
* Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Month-End Closing: Support month-end and year-end processes, including accruals and prepayments.
* VAT Returns: Prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
* Expense Reporting: Process employee expense claims in line with company policies.
* Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed asset register, tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
* Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing queries.
* Inbox Management: Collaboratively manage the finance team inbox, ensuring timely responses and efficient communication.
Key Requirements:
* Experience: 1-3 years in an accounting or finance role, with experience managing a portfolio of clients, and managing company-wide payroll.
* Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles, strong proficiency in Xero, Sage, and Excel, excellent attention to detail, and strong organisational habits.
