The Director of Nursing is responsible forthe overall management and leadership of the nursing departmentwithin a healthcare facility. This role involves overseeing thenursing staff ensuring highquality patient care and maintainingcompliance with established standards and regulations. The Directorof Nursing develops and implements nursing policies and proceduresmanages the hiring and training of nursing personnel and ensuresthat staffing levels are adequate to meet the needs of residents.Additionally this position requires monitoring the conduct ofnursing staff staying informed about incidents within the facilityand assessing the health needs of all residents. The Director ofNursing must possess strong leadership and supervisory skills witha commitment to fostering a professional and supportive workenvironment for all nursingstaff.
Duties:
Lead and manage all nursing staff within thefacility.
Create and enforce nursingpolicies and procedures.
Oversee therecruitment hiring and retention of nursingstaff.
Ensure adequate nursing staff levelsand that their skills are up to date.
Supervise nursing staff behavior and professionalconduct.
Stay aware of all incidents andevents within the facility.
Evaluate andaddress the healthcare needs of eachresident.
Requirements:
Current State RN license.
At least 5 yearsof experience in longterm care.
Minimum of 2years of experience in a supervisory role.
Proven strong leadership and supervisoryskills.
