We are seeking passionate individuals to transform and shape the future with game-changing net-zero technology. This opportunity is for a highly motivated and skilled CAD Designer/Technician responsible for developing technical drawings and rendered images.
The Role:
Responsibilities:
1. Translate design concepts and sketches into 2D and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to develop technical drawings and visual representations.
2. Develop 3D models of vessels and produce photorealistic renderings using SolidWorks Visualize.
3. Modify existing models as needed.
4. Collaborate with engineers and naval architects to produce conceptual design drawings, ensuring accuracy and feasibility, and identifying clashes and issues.
5. Create high-quality 2D ship design drawings, including general arrangements, structural drawings, schematics, and safety plans.
6. Perform quality assurance checks to ensure designs meet specifications.
7. Participate actively in projects, creating innovative solutions and presenting them to team leads and stakeholders.
8. Stay informed about industry standards and keep up-to-date with software and CAD skills.
9. Maintain company records, including drawing registers and filing systems.
The Person:
Essential:
* At least three years of experience in ship and offshore infrastructure design projects.
* Proven experience as a CAD Technician in the marine/offshore industry.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
* Knowledge of maritime industry drafting standards.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to articulate technical risks clearly.
Desired:
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualifications (e.g., BTEC Level 4 Mechanical Engineering).
* Experience with design teams of commercial or defense vessels.
* Examples of rendered and technical drawings development.
* Experience in ship design concept development.
