St Nicholas Hospice Care is a successful charity serving the local area of West Suffolk and Thetford. Every year we support nearly 2,000 local people, delivering care across multiple settings. Our services are not just for patients, but for their family and friends too, and include everything from specialist medical care to bereavement support and practical help. We are currently recruiting for a dedicated People Administrator to join our small and established People team. The role is pivotal in administering all elements of the employee experience and providing a high quality administrative service across 200 employees and 400 volunteers. Key Responsibilities: Be the first point of contact for general HR queries and oversee a shared HR inbox Administer recruitment processes including advertising, scheduling interviews, conducting pre-employment checks and issuing contracts Maintain employee records on the HR system (CIPHR), updating and optimising the system when necessary Collate and process monthly payroll information (new starters, leavers, changes, sick pay, etc.) with accuracy and in line with deadlines Run monthly reports for monitoring and compliance of DBS checks, Professional Registrations, GDPR compliance, etc. Prepare key HR metric data on a quarterly basis and issue ad hoc reports Help improve HR processes This is a busy role requiring a strong level of initiative and the ability to support colleagues at all levels of the organisation. You will work closely with the People Advisors to ensure a smooth service across all elements of the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have: Current and proven experience of providing a customer driven administration service Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams Strong organisational skills The ability to work at fast pace whilst ensuring a high level of attention to detail is maintained. An innovative approach and can do attitude Experience of using an HR Management Information System and/or delivering payroll are highly desirable.
