The Role:
As an Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of a portfolio of clients (limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and limited liability partnerships) and managing the relationships of those clients. You will also be directly managing 2-3 more junior members of accountancy staff. Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and develop client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
2. Oversee and review accounts preparation, corporation tax returns, VAT submissions, and bookkeeping.
3. Provide strategic financial advice to clients, including tax planning and business growth strategies.
4. Supervise and mentor a small team, ensuring professional development and efficiency.
5. Maintain compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
6. Support business development activities, including onboarding new clients and identifying growth opportunities.
7. Improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Requirements:
1. ACCA/ICAS qualified (or equivalent) with proven experience in an accountancy practice.
2. Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations for small businesses.
3. Experience in managing a team and mentoring junior staff preferred but not essential.
4. Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
5. Ability to work independently and take initiative in a leadership role.
6. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and Quickbooks.
7. A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
