Role Overview
We are seeking an established Credit Control Manager to join a busy team in an exciting period of change. You will be primarily tasked with overseeing all aspects of credit control within your set business area, including managing the credit team, processes, and systems, as well as building and nurturing customer/client relationships. You will have a good amount of autonomy and the opportunity to manage 4-5 people.
This role is Hybrid (3-4 days per week in our Birmingham city centre HQ)
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct monthly 1-2-1 meetings with the team and set objectives, targets in line with the overall Credit Control team objectives.
* Host a weekly debt call with the business area, driving resolution of large or long-standing overdue debts.
* Establish best practices in credit management across the Business Unit to ensure consistency and efficiency in credit-related activities.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to align credit management activities in the business unit.
* Achieve cash collection and aged debt reduction targets, ensuring that the Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metrics are within acceptable ranges.
* Serve as the primary contact for external credit agencies and solicitors, maintaining strong relationships and leveraging their expertise as needed.
* Identify improvements within the debt collection process.
* Manage difficult accounts with a hands-on approach, achieving settlements and ongoing resolutions.
* Complete responsibility and accountability for all credit control and AR matters.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience in a demanding CM or CRM role with a focus on collections.
* Experience handling complex debt.
* Proven success in a people management role.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Strong analytical skills, data-focused.
* White glove service to ledger management.
