The Control Systems Engineer provides technical leadership across Production operations. Working to deliver key performance indicators. Taking ownership of ICA related aspects of the delivery of capex & opex schemes and supporting frontline teams to deliver objectives. What you'll be doing: You will be designing, testing and commissioning PLC / HMI / SCADA software using our company standard software solutions. As an a Control Systems Engineer you will need to take ownership of all ICA aspects of the delivery of capex & opex schemes and supporting frontline teams to deliver objectives. You will need to take responsibility for proactively managing ICA Engineer workload and work with peer group to deliver all requirements, using KPIs to communicate performance and agree prioritisation within Customer Delivery. Utilising supply chain as required. You will to proactively address emerging ICA problems to reduce to a minimum their effect on operations. Take ownership to ensure compliance with asset standards to achieve operational and business targets, whilst meeting health and safety, water quality and statutory requirements. Maintain awareness of changes to asset standards and constructively challenge current or revised asset standards to achieve most efficient business practice. Proactively working with Procurement to drive performance and standardisation from the supply chain as part of continual improvement and delivering best value for money. Take the lead on behalf of the operational teams in Hazops and investigation meetings. Drive efficiency through identification of optimisation schemes, delivering projects to deadlines and as part of CommCell process. Witnessing the FAT and SAT on projects Take the lead on Production Initiatives. Develop continual improvements at asset, site and Area level. Provide visible leadership to the team and the Business, through area initiatives and site tours and inspections. Work collaboratively with colleagues from across the Business, including other Production teams, Customer Operations, Water Quality, Asset Strategy, Procurement, HR and H&S. Supporting colleagues from across the business. You will be required to deliver work through the accepted Outage and RAMS processes taking into account water quality, customer supply, H&S etc. Timely delivery, providing 2 weeks' notice for RAMS approval. What you'll need: Essential Capabilities: At least 5 years experience of industrial controls software design (PLC, HMI & SCADA) HNC or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering. A full UK - clean/manual driving licence. Desired Capabilities: Experience of programming / testing / commissioning of Allen-Bradley and / or Omron PLCs Experience of developing iFix SCADA applications Experience of developing Wonderware Intouch / System Platform SCADA applications Experience of programming using VB or other programming languages Experience of configuration of servers including virtualisation Industrial communications network experience Water industry experience Experience of writing software design technical documentation Experience of working with company standard software solutions Interview Process: The closing date for this role will be 16/9/2024.
