Your new role
Working on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern reporting to the Engineering Shift Manager and Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible to deliver:
1. Monitor and diagnose all automation system issues on container handling equipment.
2. Assist with automation improvement programs across all assets.
3. Achieve EHS objectives and performance standards.
4. Develop company and operational knowledge.

What you'll need to succeed
* High technical automation / controls engineering ability.
* Understanding of electrical circuit diagrams, network structures/switches, communication protocols.
* Working knowledge of IEC 61131 programming languages.
* Troubleshooting, fault finding (within PLC code / HMIs), and repair experience is essential.
* Experience with motors and variable speed controllers is desirable.
* The Automation Technician will need to make day-to-day decisions and prioritize work based on operational needs.
* Responsibility for accurate recording of information and documentation for decision-making and auditing purposes, maintaining systems and data to high standards.
* Implement processes and tools, provide system reports, and shift handover logs.
* A proactive individual with a can-do attitude, eager to drive change and make things happen.
* Qualification in IOSH Managing Safety is preferable.
* Qualified to at least HNC level or equivalent.
* Must hold a valid UK driving license.
