We are looking for a Natural Capital Solicitor to join the Planning and Environment teamin our Ross-on-Wye, Lydney or Bristol office. This is a newly created role, in a fascinating and fast-growing area of law, working with developers and landowners on environmental improvements and land regeneration. This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced solicitor with a strong interest in this area of law. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Advising developers and landowners on matters such as natural capital, biodiversity enhancements and environmental improvements. Providing a first-class service to clients through effective handling of client files. Drafting and negotiating legal documents. Keeping up with environmental legislation such as Climate Change Act or Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations. Providing a proactive and constructive input into the teams strategy, and assist with the developing further the firms understanding and knowledge of the natural capital sector. Supporting business development. What we are looking for: Previous experience in a similar role (Natural Capital/Environmental Solicitor) or a genuine interest in this emerging area of law. Minimum 1-year PQE. Dexterity in legal practice as our work encompasses both advisory and transactional elements. Exceptional work ethic, a positive can-do attitude. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure when faced with several projects at a time. Good business acumen and commercial awareness. Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Great communication skills. Location and working hours: This is a hybrid role, and you can be based in our Ross-on-Wye, Lydney or Bristol office. There will be the opportunity for you to work with other fee earners within the team based at our other offices. Its a full-time position, 35 hours per week.
