Job summary The post holder will assist in the delivery of high quality Tuberculosis (TB) nursing services (which are accessible and responsive) throughout the Trust at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital site and for the Royal Brompton Hospital to minimise and reduce the impact of Tuberculosis (TB). It is an integrated service that cares for TB patients across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The post holder will be working alongside other clinical colleagues to provide expert individualised care, treatment and support for this patient group and their families/carers independently in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in line with local and national targets. They will play a key role within this team in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated and timely approach to care. The post holder will promote excellence in nursing practice through the integration of expert clinical practice, education, consultancy, acting as a specialist resource/role model and commit to nursing research and audit. They will evaluate through quality assurance initiatives and assessment of clinical outcomes. Main duties of the job The post holder will have managerial responsibilities, for example, deputising for the Lead TB Clinical Nurse Specialist and liaising with UK health Security Agency (UKHSA). They will have clinical skills specific to the care of TB patients (adults and children) and TB/HIV patients, They will organise or participate in the education of nurses, medical staff, allied health professionals (AHP's), patients and carers and participate in TB teaching development where appropriate. To maintain and develop leadership, clinical competence and professional awareness in accordance with continuing professional development (CPD) and revalidation requirements and to maintain a professional profile. The post holder must maintain and promote effective communication both verbally and in writing with all members of the multidisciplinary team and other wards and departments. The post holder must maintain an active awareness of clinical and professional developments and to disseminate the knowledge to colleagues.
