Practice Manager
Purpose of the job:
Carry out management duties to ensure effective running of the Turret practice and perform such other tasks as reasonably requested by the operations manager or principal.
The post holder will:
* Manage all clinical staff including orthodontists, orthodontic therapists, treatment coordinators, dental nurses, receptionists, cleaners, and temporary contractors.
* Ensure all staff carry out best Orthodontic care to patients, including to patients with complex medical, physical, and emotional needs.
* Take responsibility for the management of the practice in the key areas of finance, personnel, health and safety, stock control, and clinical governance.
* Follow practice policies and procedures and monitor the staff to help them adhere to these policies.
* Promote, establish, and maintain productive working relationships with all team members and provide an environment that encourages patient involvement.
* Act as a positive role model within the practice for all staff and patients by upholding the Turret values.
* Ensure all staff have professional indemnity in place and undertake necessary CPD.
* Liaise with the principal on all matters concerning finance, administration, pay, and service conditions.
* Supervise all staff in the practice to ensure they are trained according to practice guidelines.
* Take care of your own Health & Safety and that of others affected by your work.
* Maintain a regular, consistent, and professional attitude & attendance.
Key Management tasks
* Support finance by working with the Regional manager and principal by maintaining suitable systems for sales and purchase ledgers and financial reconciliation.
* Ensure adherence and monitor performance against the business plan.
* Produce monthly management accounts and discuss practice performance with the operations manager and principal.
* Support the Operations Manager to develop budgets and control capital purchases.
* Ensure all monies are banked appropriately and effective credit control methods are in place.
* Oversee the payroll function and arrange for the timely payment of salaries.
* Develop and keep up-to-date all practice policies and procedures, training staff in their use.
* Manage implementation of the practice clinical governance system.
* Ensure maintenance and back-up of the practice computer system.
* Control inventory and stock ordering system.
* Liaise with reps and negotiate best prices for dental materials and equipment.
Health and Safety, equipment maintenance:
* Perform the duties of a Health and Safety Manager and ensure adherence to health and safety policies.
* Ensure that all practice equipment is maintained and serviced according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Personnel Responsibility:
* Undertake HR duties in respect of recruitment, induction, training, monitoring of CPD, appraisal, and performance issues.
* Keep and monitor staff records including sickness and annual leave.
Patient Responsibility:
* Manage the practice complaints system.
* Manage and respond to patient queries.
* Arrange and attend training and practice meetings.
Education
The post holder will be expected to:
* Be IT literate with good English writing and reading skills.
* Be committed to furthering professional development and learning new skills.
Communication
The post holder will be expected to:
* Communicate effectively with patients, clinicians, and other staff members.
* Liaise with dental laboratories regarding work/reports for patients.
* Participate in relevant promotional days.
* Provide telephone advice regarding patients with emergency dental problems.
* Use email and other effective channels for communication.

Salary: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
