AECOM are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join the thriving South West and Wales Streets team offering multidisciplinary design and planning capability. This is an exciting opportunity to join an accomplished team and work on a range of microsimulation and multidisciplinary projects for a wide variety of clients. The role will suit an individual who is looking to take the next step in their career, including client-facing and project management responsibilities, and will have a strong background in transport modelling with a particular focus on microsimulation modelling. A critical aspect of the role will be building and maintaining client relationships with our key clients such as Cardiff City Council, the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and Transport for London (TfL) for example. The role will require leadership, mentorship and technical advice for junior team members.

* Projects for local authority clients across the UK, most notably Cardiff Council, WECA, TfL.
Here's what you'll do:
1. Deliver: The Streets team is responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of projects aimed at improving our streets and places for local authority clients across the UK and Ireland. We provide feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design, transport modelling, community engagement, project delivery and construction management services on a wide range of multi-discipline transportation and urban realm projects.
2. Oversee: You will be responsible for the technical delivery of transport modelling projects and project teams; plan and develop modelling and analysis tasks to solve unique problems.
3. Provide Expertise: Offer technical knowledge and expertise to the modelling team within multi-disciplinary projects, from conceptual to detailed design phases of a design development.
4. Ensure Quality: Provide Health, Safety and Wellness leadership consistent with AECOM's safety policies and procedures.
5. Collaborate: Leading the modelling team within the wider team of multi-disciplinary consultants to deliver integrated designs.
6. Knowledge: Knowledge of leading workstreams and managing projects to budget, programme and quality.
7. Being the technical lead: for transport modelling projects, ensuring that the high standards that clients expect from AECOM are achieved.
8. Line management: of junior members of staff, providing support to ensure their development.
9. Lead on proposals: for smaller projects and contribute to the production of proposals for larger bids.
10. Act as a Project Manager: including monitoring financial performance.
Ready to push the limits of what's possible? Here's what we're looking for:
* Extensive knowledge of traffic microsimulation modelling software.
* Excellent knowledge of TfL MAP and TAG guidance.
* Experience of using VisVAP and MOVA (desirable).
* In depth experience of traffic model development.
* Extensive experience of LinSig and ARCADY/PICADY software.
* Experience and understanding of traffic engineering and junction design principles.
* Excellent verbal and written communication as well as writing reports to a high standard.
* Extensive data analysis experience in Excel or other analytical tools, such as Python (desirable).
* Knowledge of traffic data collection requirements, techniques and management of subcontractors.
Minimum Qualification:
Degree or Master qualification in an analytical subject such as: Engineering, Mathematics or Geography or similar.
