The Medical Education Department at Prince Philip Hospital is looking to recruit a Clinical Skills Co-ordinator, on a fixed term 12 month basis. This exciting role is to provide technical support for clinical skills and simulation teaching for medical and physician associate students and medical staff at various levels in their training. The post also requires supporting student and junior doctor induction, general support in the department, some administrative tasks, and working with colleagues on other sites.
The applicant should demonstrate they work well within a team, with experience of working in a clinical environment an advantage. Excellent communication skills, knowledge of administrative procedures, and strong technology and digital IT skills are also required. Training on the setup and maintenance of skills and simulation equipment will be given.
The hours are full time and require some flexibility. Less than full time working would be considered.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role include:
* Co-ordinating the clinical skills and simulation teaching and learning for students, trainees, and work experience students
* Preparing the learning environment
* Creating certificates for attendance and presentation
* Liaising with key stakeholders such as clinical teams and universities
* Obtaining feedback from service users to inform future provision with a view to continual improvements
* Being a team player and working with other medical education centre staff to ensure the general smooth running of the centre

* Identifying opportunities to continually improve the service offered in order to make Hywel Dda the place to be for medical education and training

Qualifications and Knowledge
* HNC/HND or Diploma qualification or proven experience of work at this level
* Knowledge of a range of administrative procedures
* Knowledge of IT systems including Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, and databases
* Educated to Diploma level or attainment of HCSW NVQ level 3
* Knowledge of working in a clinical area
* Knowledge of the Medical Education process within the NHS
