The Role & Responsibilities:
The Dover District Council area is the part of South East England that is nearest to mainland Europe. The area covers approximately 121 square miles and includes three main towns, Dover, Deal and Sandwich as well as dozens of picturesque villages and hamlets which make East Kent such an attractive and popular place to live and work.
The Dover District is steeped in history, with the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, several castles including the Lord Warden of Cinque Ports residence, Walmer Castle. As well as the coastline, the District has wonderful countryside, lush valleys and beautiful parks and gardens.
Are you a Team leader? Are you an enthusiastic, experienced and reliable grounds maintenance operative? We are looking for a dynamic person to maintain the gardens, parks and open spaces in and around the local area. Working as part of the Council’s in-house Parks & Open Spaces Team, the role involves the following aspects of maintenance:
Grass Cutting, Strimming, Weeding, Pruning, Planting, Litter Picking and Hedge Cutting.
Candidates should have proven experience in leadership skills, record keeping, grounds maintenance, be competent in using the appropriate power tools where required and be physically fit.
NVQ2 desirable. Powered equipment experience, PA1 & PA6. A current clean driving licence is required for this role.

As this role involves the use of vibration equipment, any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory medical clearance.
