Part Time / 20 Hours Per Week / Term Time / Permanent
Join us to play a key role in ensuring children and vulnerable adults’ wellbeing is at the heart of the work we do.
Starting the day at the depot, you’ll join the driver to collect passengers and work with the family to assist them onto the vehicle and secure them with a seat belt. If a passenger is in a wheelchair, you’ll secure this with clamps. On arrival at each destination, you’ll hand over vulnerable passengers to a responsible adult. You’ll support both vulnerable young people and adults whilst they are driven between home, schools, and day centres, ensuring their personal wellbeing in a safe and appropriate manner - making their daily journey a comfortable one.
Creating a real relationship with the passengers, you’ll be a key link between the schools and parents. Getting to know the passengers, you’ll provide crucial support and find real reward in caring for individuals. As an effective communicator, you’ll be able to work with members of the public across all ages. Having a caring attitude, you’ll be sensitive to the needs of vulnerable people.
Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
You’ll work from Monday to Friday 07:30-09:30 and 14:30-16:30 to complete both pickups and drop-offs. This is term time only, 38 weeks a year, and you’ll be expected to take annual leave during the school holidays. Based at Sulgrave Road, you’ll travel across the city.
